Floor fixing is not required. The machine has a stable structure and its size is tailor-made to its accelerations, which guarantees high stability and vibration-free operation.
There are two suction points on the machine: one is connected to the working area, and the other one is located inside the protection cabin. This way, processing fumes and vapours can be efficiently evacuated. The total suction air flow recommended is approx. 3000/4000 m3/h.
Selection of the filtering system depends on the type of materials being processed and on the regulations in force in the related country. Typically, (PMMA) activated-carbon filters are used to work methacrylate. It is recommended to call a local manufacturer, to save on maintenance costs.
Generally the processing fumes can be harmful and must be filtered before being released to the environment. However, the nature of fumes depends on the material being processed, and the concentration of pollutants released depends on the amount of work.
Our PLUS CP machine makes use of a Gantry structure with highly dynamic linear motors on X W and Y axes, and with Brushless screw motor on Z axis. The measurement feedback on X W and Y axes is carried out by high-resolution inductive lines with absolute encoder. On the Z axis, the feedback is also carried out with absolute encoder. Upon its starting the machine does not require running of the Zero axis procedure (home position) and it is immediately ready for working; this is one of the advantages of absolute encoders.
The working area height is 900/950mm depending on the adjustment of the machine ground supports.
One of the machine points of strength is that the laser is directly placed on the mobile portal (Gantry). This allows compact optical path, with few deflection mirrors and with only one mobile mirror. As a result, the path length variation is reduced to a minimum. The optical path is sealed with pressurised tubes and bellows, in such a way as to avoid external air pumping effect when moving. Everything is pressurised by filtered dried air, to guarantee extreme regularity of performance over time, and virtual absence of maintenance.

Neither paints or prints can constitute a problem for laser cutting. The machine can be equipped with a camera for the cut alignment to the moulded profile through fiducial marks recognition.
PA or POM can be worked, but there are many variants of them that need to be distinguished. Theoretically, a thickness of 20mm is not a problem, but obtainable results have to be checked.
With regard to PMMA, it is possible to make quality processing on thicknesses higher than 20mm.
Our exclusive flash-hider system prevents the flame ignition by taking the air/fumes concentration ratio below the plate to values that are not compatible with flame ignition. This is carried out by using a set of CNC-operated blowing bars, adjusted to the cutting head position.
No honeycomb is used for the working area, because due to the power applied it would rapidly wear out. Instead, a set of anodised-aluminium shaped lenticular fishplates is used. Fishplates can be replaced individually and do not wear out rapidly. This solution also reduces the contact points between the working area and the material.
The machine allows defining and managing many zero points, such as the head current position or a zero position of the working area, or the position of a fixing piece of equipment. Such points can be activated on the user’s choice through the control software or the CAD/CAM software used. In case of printed figures to be cut out, using a camera and printed fiducial marks allows the automatic management of position and alignment.
The Z position of the cutting head is software-controlled and is one of the parameters that can be configured in the cutting technology database. Thanks to the Z-position integrated control, the material thickness and focusing can be managed without any manual actions.
The control software is multilingual, and German is one of the implemented options. (Italian, German, English, French, Chinese, Brazilian, Spanish...).
The Smart Manager software allows managing the machine and displaying its status or alarms. It is possible to load part programs, associate a technology to it, make an estimate of the processing times and start working. It is also possible to define the cutting technological parameters, create and manage a database of materials and define the related processing parameters. In case of cutting interruption due to blackout, emergency and/or alarms, the processing can be either resumed from the exact point it was interrupted, or from a previous or next point of the track. A merge can be created and program scheduling with pallet change between one process and the next one.
The Smart Manager machine management software accepts incoming files in a specific format (.NC, .RNC) Such files can be generated by various Cad/Cam systems equipped with appropriate post processor. A Cad/Cam system that can import DXF, DWG, EPS, JPG, BMP, PLT, PDF, PNG files can be supplied with the system. The Smart Composer software is also supplied on demand, for a simple arrangement of files on the machine working area. This software allows importing the above-described extensions and re-reading and possibly editing the previously-generated .NC and .RNC files. The software contains an application for the creation of luminous panels (back Light Panel - LGP). The JOP format is proprietary and it is not currently supported. It could be supported in case any info on the format is available.
The Smart Manager software is dedicated to the management of the machine and database of cutting technologies, and it acts as an executor. Small changes in size and rotation can be made by Smart Manager, while for creation and editing of drawings a CAD/CAM program is used. Thanks to Smart Composer –online program onboard the machine that is directly interfaced with the machine control– it is possible to draw new vector and raster files, load or edit works already made, and create works in case of matrix and/or nesting.
Interaction with Eurosystem software can currently occur only on a level of compatible CAD files (such as dxf). We have no problems to supply Eurosystem with the specifications required to implement a post processor dedicated to our machines.
In compliance with the European standards, in all laser system installations containing a 4-class laser source it is necessary to appoint a Laser Safety Manager , even though (as in our case) the machine is rated as a class-1 laser machine due to the implemented protections.
The movable parts of the cabin are equipped with safety switches; functioning with open cabin configures the machine as a class-4 laser, and also exposes to the mechanical risks related to the portal movement.
Opening of the working cabin is almost total; the cutting plan is accessible with open cabin for more than 2900 mm.
The Smart Manager software has a database with the parameters of use related to the various types of material. This database is in .XML format, therefore it can be exported and imported.
Immediate phone contact or remote-assistance to understand the nature of failure (phone call and remote-assistance are FREE of charge). Fast intervention on place for any failures that do not require sending of components that cannot be carried by the personnel in charge.
Considering the high reliability of the machine and its components, no service programming interventions are planned . We recommend to carry out a check on a yearly basis.
