Growing Together: The transformation of Cutlite Penta- Interview with Carolina Delibassis and Alessia Rugi

Cutlite Penta, a leading company in the production of laser systems for metal cutting, has undergone significant transformation in recent years. We met with Carolina and Alessia, two key figures from the Sales Department, to discover how the company has managed this evolution

From tradition to innovation: a path of professional growth

Carolina: “I arrived here nine years ago, in 2016. Since then, I haven’t left this office, becoming one of the reference figures for the department.”

Alessia: “I joined the company in 2018 as a Customer Care representative. After three years in After-sales, in 2021 I moved to the Sales Department. The company’s expansion required new resources in the commercial area, but I also had a strong desire for professional renewal. I wanted to understand the entire product life cycle, to acquire that 360-degree vision that gives meaning to the actions I previously performed automatically.”

The tecnological revolution that has transformed the sector

Carolina: “2018 was a turning point. Before, we mainly dealt with systems for plastics and die-cutting. Then came the revolution of fiber laser cutting, radically changing our way of working. The systems for metal cutting are incredibly more sophisticated. The technical documentation has become more complex, the layouts more articulated. It was like learning a new language.”

In this transition process, training was crucial: “Fortunately, experienced technicians and commercial staff guided us in learning these new systems. Without their support, it would have been difficult to keep up with such rapid and unexpected growth.”

Alessia: “Open houses, trade shows, and close contact with the DEMO department allowed us to see the machines in action firsthand. This gave us an understanding that no manual could have provided.”

A well-ochestrated orchestry: sinergy between departments

Alessia: “In our work, cooperation with the commercial staff is constant. The environment that has been created is extraordinarily positive.”

Carolina: “It’s a perfect symbiosis. Everything starts with a request for a quote from a sales representative. When this turns into an order, we prepare the necessary documentation.”

Alessia: “Often, clients request customized solutions. In these cases, the technical office also comes into play to evaluate the feasibility of the modifications.”

Carolina: “We are essentially the point of connection between the Sales staff and the other departments. In our team, routine is a word we don’t know. The biggest challenge is planning, but this unpredictability makes the work stimulating and rich in authentic human relationships.

The importance of events in the B2B sector

Trade shows are intense and rewarding experiences,” says Carolina. “LAMIERA in Milan is our main event in Italy, followed by the fair in Pordenone. Both alternate year by year.”

Alessia: “Finally, we can put a face to the clients we may have interacted with for an entire year only by phone or email. Open houses, on the other hand, have a unique nature; clients come to ‘our home,’ and this creates a different atmosphere. There is more initial organizational stress, but you’re operating in your own comfort zone.”

Carolina: “Trade shows are a real competitive arena where you have to stand out among numerous competitors. They are a strategic meeting point for professionals truly interested in our products and generate quality contacts that often turn into concrete business relationships.”

Alessia: “With the arrival of Elvira, our team has further enriched, allowing us to strengthen activities that are already central for us: following up even more effectively on the leads generated during events, paying attention to every detail in client relationships, and structuring databases to best support the commercial network.

Looking to the future: growth and development in a competitive market

Carolina: “I would never have imagined it nine years ago, but the metalworking world has its own charm. Discovering the processes behind the creation of components we take for granted in everyday life is fascinating. And then, every day is different from the previous one. When I was hired, we were just about sixty people in the company. Today, we are almost 200 professionals.

Alessia: “It’s like a big family. The company offers concrete opportunities for professional growth, as happened in my case. It requires commitment, but the results repay the efforts.”

Carolina: “The work environment is crucial. We spend most of our day here. A cooperative climate is essential for everyone’s well-being.” Looking to the future, both are optimistic. “I am convinced that the efforts of these years will be amply rewarded,” says Alessia. “The market will increasingly recognize our value, because we have demonstrated that we have the skills to compete at the highest levels.”

Carolina concludes with an ambitious vision: “The sudden growth has been a challenge, but it has also pushed us to evolve mentally. We have achieved milestones that have allowed us to surpass even more established and structured companies. Where will we be in a few years? Here, stronger, more organized, and with an ever-wider scope. I’m curious to see what the future holds for us, and I want to be here to be part of it.”
