Cutlite Penta's FHD at SamuExpo 2024

At SamuExpo 2024 in Pordenone, Cutlite Penta presented the FHD, the fiber laser system for large-format metal cutting.

From February 1 to 3, 2024, at the Pordenone biennial dedicated to metalworking and plastics processing, the FHD brought the high power and quality of fiber laser cutting to large working tables, an area so far dominated by plasma.

The FHD at SamuExpo 2024 in Pordenone

SamuExpo ran from February 1 to 3, 2024, in Pordenone: it's the biennial dedicated to machines, technologies and products for metalworking and plastics processing, one of the leading events at national level. Here we presented the new FHD, the fiber laser system designed for large-format metal cutting.

Metal cutting on large working tables has so far been an area dominated by plasma. With the FHD, this kind of work can rely on the high power and quality of the fiber laser.

High performance and small footprint on large formats

The FHD consists of an enclosed cabin around the gantry that houses the Evo 3 cutting head designed by Cutlite Penta. The rigid steel structure, extended along the x-axis, makes loading and unloading easy with a forklift or overhead crane.

Moving on double prismatic guides, the enclosed cabin follows the cut on the metal while keeping the footprint to a minimum. The efficiency of the FHD and its compact size drew strong interest over the three days of SamuExpo.

The features of the FHD

  • Evo 3 cutting head: performance and reliability, with lower assist gas consumption and the ability to sustain intensive use for long periods, with a cut quality hard to achieve with plasma.
  • Drilling option with HT-series 6-position revolver turrets, to widen the range of machining done directly on the machine.
  • Fiber laser sources: high efficiency and high cut quality.

Custom configurations and bevel option

After the interest at SamuExpo, the FHD is also available with custom configurations and, as an option, the bevel cutting head for inclined cutting up to ±45°.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Cutlite Penta FHD?

A fiber laser system for large-format metal cutting, with an enclosed cabin around the gantry that reduces the footprint.
