Cutlite Penta has been building laser cutting machines for over thirty years: from cutting plastic and wood to metals with the fiber laser, with every component developed in-house. A path that led us to be the first in Italy and Europe to release a cutting head compatible with power up to 30 kW.
Where did Cutlite Penta start?
Thirty years ago Cutlite Penta began producing machines for cutting plastics and wood. Starting from the sources built within the El.En. group, it committed to the constant evolution of laser power and optical systems.
This is where our expertise comes from: from continuous research into lenses, focusing and optical divergences — elements that would become decisive in every later laser application.
How did it become a reference in polycarbonate cutting?
Continuous research for innovation made Cutlite Penta a reference in cutting polycarbonate, a material hard to cut while keeping edges smooth and glossy, especially at high speeds.
In 2005 the first PLUS with linear motors was born, designed to cut polycarbonate without any rippling: within a few years it would become one of the sector's flagship machines.
The next step was fitting high-power CO2 sources to make cutting dies. Using sources over 2000 Watts let us gain new skills in optics and focusing, from lenses to optical divergences.
When did it enter metal cutting with the fiber laser?
The decisive turning point was entering the fiber laser, an efficient technology that soon surpassed CO2 in performance for metal cutting.
With commitment and drawing on our experience in optics and focusing, the first 2000-Watt fiber laser systems arrived, along with the first metal cutting head, the EVO 1.
In the following two years the EVO 2 was born, the cutting head able to withstand power up to 15 kW.
Why was Cutlite Penta the first in Europe?
2020 saw the birth of the first 30 kW fiber lasers and the EVO 3 cutting head (today evolved into the Evo 4) able to support them. An achievement that made Cutlite Penta the first company in Italy and Europe to release a cutting head compatible with such power.

Today Cutlite Penta is part of the industrial division of El.En., an international group with several production and commercial sites worldwide and numerous fiber laser machines for metal cutting installed across the globe.
