Over the years, laser processing of metals has greatly improved and become more refined, especially thanks to the introduction of the fiber laser, far more powerful than CO2.

Fiber laser cutting on metals

Fiber lasers offer greater precision than CO2 ones: the beam is much finer and the reduced width allows higher precision which, combined with the very high speed of linear motors, makes it possible to produce objects with accurate, precise finishes.

Examples of objects that can be made with the fiber laser are gears or bicycle components, produced without the need for further grinding steps. Our machines best suited to this kind of work are LME and PLUS.

Why the laser cut matters

What makes the difference when cutting metal is how fine the laser beam is: the finer the spot, the more precise the cut. This aspect, combined with the dynamics of linear motors, gives life to incredible creations.

The linear motor is electric and, instead of having a circular rotor and stator, they are "unrolled". An important detail that leads to an interesting feature: instead of producing a mechanical movement, it produces a force. This force, together with the ultra-fine blade of the fiber, creates complex geometries with no further finishing, ensuring a perfect result from the very first pass.
