Laser cutting and scanning heads
The Heads Department is one of the crucial areas of our company.
Here we assemble all the laser scanning and cutting heads used in the marking machines, cutting machines and hybrid systems made by Cutlite Penta, Ot-Las and El.En.
Laser scanning and cutting heads
First of all, let's distinguish the different types of heads. There are three:
- Marking heads
- CO2 cutting heads
- Fiber cutting heads
Marking heads
Marking heads are used to engrave and mark various materials: paper, wood, leather, plexiglass, glass, textiles and more. They use galvanometric motors and electronic boards designed and produced within the El.En. group. They also use laser-reflection mirrors of three types (quartz, aluminum and beryllium), chosen according to the power and speed requirements of the end customer.
CO2 cutting heads
CO2 cutting heads are used in plexiglass cutting machines and in die-making machines.
Fiber cutting heads
Fiber cutting heads are used for cutting steel, aluminum and iron sheet metal. We design and produce them in house, with electronic components and optical lenses of various types depending on the required focal length. All heads are assembled in a clean room, to ensure maximum cleanliness inside the head and the optics. The fiber heads also include those used in 5-axis machines and for bevel cutting.
The manufacturing stage
The design, development and manufacturing stages are decisive for the final performance of the head.
We work with the machine production departments and with the service department to best coordinate the final production of the machines. We are also in constant contact with Research and Development and with the mechanical designers, both to integrate the new technologies into the heads and for the new prototypes. This constant coordination lets us do our best work and keep our specialized staff continuously up to date: an aspect that makes us confident about the quality of the final product.
